How it works
Ranting online is an easy three-step process:
Step #1: Get angry
Find something that really gets you going, no matter how personal it is to you, because the chances are it’ll still be hilarious! Remember though, if it involves someone else, you must seek their consent before you go rattling on about them!
Step #2: Call us
When you’re ready to go, call us from a normal telephone on (0121) 288 9321, or use Skype (our username is dial.a.rant). Make sure you’re not calling from a hidden number (if you do, we won’t use your rant.) Just leave your message after the tone then hang up.
Step #3: Claim it
Claim your rant by entering your name, mobile number, email address and website address. (We won’t distribute any of your details, and only your name and website address will be made public). Only rants that are claimed can go online, so we need your mobile number simply to match up your voicemail with your claim: nothing more.
You’ll then receive a thank you email which reminds you to check out the New Media Junkie podcast where we’ll be playing some of our favourite rants from the week. If we’re able to use your rant and match it up with the voicemail you left, you’ll receive a second email (probably later in the day) with a link to your rant so you can share it with your mates! (Don’t worry if you don’t get the second email within 24 hours, sometimes it may take us longer to go through everyone’s messages.)
And that’s it: think it, shout it, claim it. Once you’re done you won’t hear from us again until you decide to give us another call…and we hope you will!
